Kohli apologizes to Smith on behalf of Indian fans

Virat Kohli, Indian fans

Indian skipper Virat Kohli set the bar for sportsmanship on its finest pedal. Kohli, who is leading the Indian Cricket Team in the World cup has sought apology to Australian batsman Steven Smith on the behalf of the Indian crowds.

The former Aussie skipper was booed by the Indian fans during the high voltage world cup match between India and Australia on Sunday at the Oval in London.

“There are so many Indian fans here, I just didn’t want them to set a bad example, to be honest. He didn’t do anything to be booed, in my opinion .
He added,“So I just felt for him and told him ‘sorry for… on behalf of the crowd’. We’ve seen that happen in a few earlier games as well. In my opinion that’s not acceptable.”

He also pointed that he felt bad for the Ausie batsman. Smith was booed by the Indian fans several times during the match. But Captain Kohli was quick to correct the fans by asking them to stop the booing and claps instead.
