Mohanlal's 'Randamoozham' in trouble as MT backtracks from project

Kozhikode : In a major set back, the much anticipated project of Malayalam film Industry has landed in major trouble with scriptwriter MT Vasudevan Nair retracting from the project. According to the report, the author had filed a petition in the Kozhikode Munsif court for the custody of the screenplay.

The crucial decision was taken after the project failed commence even after three years of announcement. MT Vasudevan Nair also made it clear that he will also return the money which he had received as an advance for the project.

However, the movie director nor the producer had not commented on the matter. Earlier, it was announced that NRI businessman BR Shetty will be producing the film under his banner on budget of Rs 1,000, making it not only the most expensive film in the history of Malayalam, but in Indian cinema as well.

Randamoozham is a Malayalam novel penned by author MT Vasudevan Nair in 1984. The story is based on the epic Mahabharata and is told from Bhima’s perspective. Appreciated and credited as a masterpiece, it won the Vayalar Award for the best literary work in Malayalam in 1985 and the Muttathu Varkey Award in 1994.
