Kerala floods: Prisoners donate 14 lakhs to CMDRF

Kannur: The inmates of Kerala prison are lending a helping hand as the state limps back from the worst deluge in the century. The inmates have decided to contribute their hard savings, which collected over time by doing odd jobs, to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.

According to the reports, Jail DGP R Sreelekha will hand over the 14 lakh rupees to the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Kannur central jail, a home to nearly 1,200 inmates donated 4 lakh rupees, the highest amount to the fund.
