Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will screen 343 movies in this year's festival which runs from Sep 06 through 16. When the final roundup of a powerful list of multi-cultural movies stand unveiled for the 43rd annual event, TIFF 2018 reiterates its commitment to gender parity and inclusiveness in all its fields. Each year from stem to stern TIFF is in the front line in introducing a host of specialties in its presentations. Piers Handling, the CEO of TIFF, and Cameron Bailey, the Artistic Director, had brought out all along the line of this year's specialties which stand a step ahead of the last one.

The world premieres of GRETA by Neil Jordan, THE WEDDING GUEST of Michael Winterbottom, WHERE HANDS TOUCH by Amma Asante, RED JOAN by Trevor Nunn, GIRLS OF THE SUN by Eva Husson, HUSBAND MATERIAL by Anurag Kashyap, WIDOWS by Steve McQueen the North American premieres of EVERYBODY KNOWS by Asghar Farhadi, A STAR IS BORN by Bradley Cooper, MANTO by Nandita Das, MAYA by Mia Hansen Love are some of the titles came up.

The festival starts with a special presentation of Patricia Rozema's Canadian movie, MOUTHPIECE and closes on Sep 16 with Hirokazu Kore-eda's SHOPLIFTERS. The latter had a remarkable celebration in Japan and abroad and TIFF has no second thoughts in selecting this thoughtful drama to the Canadian audience while winding up the festival this year.

The KIng Street West, where TIFF Centre is located, will be closed to traffic for the first four days in order to widely celebrate the highlights of TIFF 2018 including the project 'Share Her Journey, the benefits of which goes to the women directors around the world. It's a $3-million project runs for the second year in its 5 year-term. TIFF also has placed Mira Nair, the renowned Indo-American director and Oscar-fame, in the festival's Platform jury to pick up the movies of high artistic credits.

SEARCHING FOR INGMAR BERGMAN, a documentary attraction by Von Trotta would be an added attraction to this year's TIFF. 83 countries are participating in TIFF 2018 and 34% of the films have been directed by women. The longest film of the event is LA FLOR (The Flower) and that runs for 14 hours in parts and the shortest one is THE INVISIBLE CINEMA 3, of 43 seconds. There are 11 films to tell the stories of renowned musicians. 7926 films had been submitted for TIFF consideration altogether in 2018 and 343 found its place in this prestigious international festival of films.

THE LIE by Veena Sud, MARD KO DARD NAHIN HOTA by Vasan Bala, THE FIELD by Sandhya Suri, CIRCLE by Jayisha Patel, THE SWEET REQUIEM by Rita Sarin and Tenzing Sonam, BULBUL CAN SING by Rima Das are the Indian entries to this festival.

About 3000 volunteers have rolled up their sleeves to guide and serve the audience of the biggest event spreads out to 33 screens of Toronto city.
