Face book, Kerala floods

New Delhi : Social media giant Face Book is donating $250,000 for the relief works in Kerala, the god's own country which was wreaked by the torrential rains.

It should be noted that Face book played a key role during the flood, where the Malayalies literally turned the social media platform into a emergency control room.

From search and rescue information to relief works, Keralities defined the social media platform in a unique way. Face book will donate the money through the community resilience fund for GOONJ- a Delhi based non profit organisation that is leading the relief and recovery efforts in the impacted localities.

During the situation, Face book also activated its feature safety check, allowing people to let their friends and family know if they are safe.
