Pak upset over ISRO satellite launch, warns India

Pakistan, ISRO, Satellite launch

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) hits century by successfully sending Cartosat-2 into orbit on Friday morning. Its first satellite of 2018, Cartosat-2 launched a total of 31 small satellites for India, the United States, Canada, Finland, France, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

While the nation celebrated the success, our neighbouring country Pakistan was worried and upset and issued a stern warning on India. During a press conference on Thursday, the Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson asked, ‘India has launched a remote sensing satellite Cartosat-2 series along with 31 small satellites in space, which have surveillance capabilities. How do you view the increasing Indian investment in defence and surveillance?’

The spokesperson warned that if this move is aimed at a buildup of destabilizing military capabilities, it can negatively impact the regional strategic stability.
